Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is used to treat cancer because cancer cells are more susceptible to radiation. This is because radiation damages DNA and cancer cells are not as capable of repairing DNA as well as normal, healthy cells. It is still a weakening procedure and can possibly lead to side effects like leukemia, but there are drugs to take that lessen the blow of the treatment.

Band-Aids/Neosporin

If you're using a combination of band-aids (adhesive strips) and neosporin (antibacterial creme) to heal a wound, apply the creme to the cotton of the band-aid first. If you smear the creme on the wound first you'll likely spread it where the adhesive part of the band-aid is supposed to go, preventing it from sticking. Applying creme to the band-aid's cotton prevents this.

Scabs

Scabs don't become new skin- instead, they cover the wound as the new skin forms underneath.
