Hammering

When hammering a nail into a wall, use fewer, more confident hits to drive the nail in. Lightly tapping will more likely result in bending the nail.

Yellow Light

As a rule of thumb, while driving towards a traffic light that's just turned yellow, if it would take extra-hard braking to come to a complete stop, keep driving- you're likely to make it through just fine.

If you can comfortably come to a complete stop, do so. Lights tend to be timed in relation to the speed limits of the street.

Speeding to a stop

Accelerating to a red light is a waste of gas. If an upcoming light turns red, remove your foot from the gas pedal and coast the rest of the way, applying the brake when necessary.

Oil/cars

If you're going to check your oil in your car, drive the car for a mile so that the oil is at a performance level when you check it; if you check oil without having recently driven you'll inaccurately read the level.

Lights on

While you may be able to see the road perfectly fine, turning on your headlights while driving in the evening, in a tunnel, or in a parking garage is not so that you will be able to see more clearly; rather, it's so that other drivers will be able to see you.
