True Brainstorming

Brainstorming is most successful when a group's members spend time thinking of ideas on their own, outside the group, and then bring those ideas "to the table" when they meet.

If members wait until they gather to begin formulating ideas, it may encourage less participation; members may rely on others to do the group's thinking.
